Biography

Jason Beesinger is an associate with Joyce + McFarland LLP. Jason has a diverse background of experience at the pre-litigation, trial, and appellate levels in state and federal courts. He has represented clients ranging from individual plaintiffs to multi-national companies and their officers and directors. His subject matter experience includes oil and gas litigation, “deal” litigation, large FCPA investigations, whistleblower/compliance allegations, and shareholder derivative suits. Jason is proud to have represented pro bono clients in immigration and divorce matters.

Jason is a member of the Texas A&M Fightin’ Texas Aggie Class of 2006. He attended the University of Houston Law Center, where he received the Mark Vela Endowed Scholarship, served as an Articles Editor on the Houston Law Review, and graduated magna cum laude in 2014. When he is not in the office, Jason treasures traveling and adventuring with his wife, AJ, and their dog, Cowboy.

Representative Experience with Joyce + McFarland LLP

Represented group of cousin-investors in breach of fiduciary duty claims against general partner cousin. Second-chaired two-week trial, securing favorable jury findings on breach of fiduciary duty and bad faith. Secured judgment awarding constructive trust over millions of dollars in real estate.

Secured full appellate reversal of summary judgment entered against client on complicated Anti-SLAPP motion, reinstating all trade secret and restrictive covenant claims and receiving judgment for appellate costs. Persuaded appellate court to adopt more restrictive view of “common interest.”

Secured full reverse and render of all claims in favor of client in complex oil and gas case, involving tax issues and interpretation of 20-year-old tax foreclosure instruments.

Represented minority shareholder in derivative “freeze-out” and constructive dividend action against majority shareholders and directors of long-time family business. Postured case to secure reinstatement of client to position of control within company.
